Gardening Guidelines Print E-mail

Please follow these gardening guidelines.
  • Get the combination for the lock from another gardener.
  • If you are the last one out of the garden, close and lock the gates behind you.
  • Turn off the water spigot when you are finished watering. Please bring the nozzle end of the hose back up to the spigot.
  • All gardens must be started by June 1st. If you do not and do not speak to a club officer about it, you willl forfeit your plot and plot fee.
  • Participate in at least one clean-up day.
    • Staking and setting up garden hoses.
    • Repairing perimeter fencing.
  • Keep your garden weed free and neat. This is not a show garden, but weeds harbor insect pests and plant deseases, as well as being unsightly.
  • Dispose of weeds and rocks
    Have fun! Enjoy yourself! We're all in this to have fun as well to enjoy the fruits of our labors.

  • While we strongly encourage pure organic gardening techniques, you may use light commercial fertilizers. Remember: No herbicides or non-organic pesticides may be used at any time in the gardens.
  • Do not throw things over the fence.
  • Parks and Recs has requested that we do not grow anything on the fence, such as morning glories, or pole beans. It attract varmints to chew on the fence and possibly break through it.
